Proud History: "The Harley-Davidson Museum will add yet another world-class attraction to Milwaukee and showcase our city's proud history with an industry icon known worldwide," said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
"I am particularly proud of Harley-Davidson's use of green design elements to redevelop this site into a landmark that will further cement Milwaukee as a destination for visitors and Harley-Davidson enthusiasts from our region and beyond."
The Harley-Davidson Museum design has been in development for more than a year and included extensive input from Milwaukee city officials.
If you are in a community that is proud of its heritage, as most are, you can get a lot of mileage out of photographing people who are old—and proud of it! How about a series geared to those bom before the turn of the century? This one will provide human interest stories with widespread appeal.
Many Norwegians, proud of their country's pioneering in education and in social legislation, proud also of Norway's key role in the 19th-century development of Scandinavian literature and music, tend almost to resent their own scenic wonders. They can't help this scenery. It was thrust upon them and is a tireless foe to their transportation system. They would welcome wider recognition of what Norwegian men and women have done, as against the over-evident achievements of Nature. |
