Number Of Picture: Other color processes are being developed which will open up new profit possibilities in virtually every one of the picture specialties covered in this book. One which is comparatively new and hardly exploited at all is the Flexichrome process, which makes it possible to produce a good color print from a black and white negative. In this process the colors are applied by hand but the final result bears no resemblance to the ordinary tinted picture. Rather the picture looks like a good color lithograph. Anyone who becomes an expert at making good Flexichrome prints probably could count on a number of picture of years during which he would have little competition.
One way of speeding the delivery of prints is to issue to each parent, at the time the picture is shot, a number of pictureed slip of paper corresponding to the number of picture given to the negative as it is shot. The number of picture might be something like "25-7," which would mean roll No. 25 and exposure on that roll No. 7. And then the parent when calling at the store to pick up her pictures can call for them by number of picture. If you do use this method, be sure to have a cross-filing system, so that you can find the pictures for those parents who lose the number of pictures they are issued.
Having established his own studio in Vallauris, Picasso began to paint tiles. The ceramic product only functioned as the background of the picture, of course, but Picasso was extremely fond of this technique because glaze, unlike oil, does not change its quality after a number of picture of years. He often combined several tiles in a large picture, so as not to be dependent on the limited format of one tile. It was thanks to Picasso that pottery experienced a revival in this little town. |
