Negative Will Yield: All this, mind you, can be done by an expert retoucher with such subtlety that the negative can be printed with a condenser enlarger, as sharp as you like, and the print will yield no clues to the fact that any retouching has been done at all. And it can be done on color transparencies, too.
3. Never deliver inferior prints. Spend the time and the paper to make sure that every picture is the best which the negative will yield. Throw away those which are too dark or too light or of the wrong degree of contrast. It's easier to make new prints than to find new customers.
Perhaps the next larger stop opening will let in enough more light to record the detail desired in the shaded parts. If you are using a small stop to gain depth of field, a slow automatic exposure such as }{<> second or a very short time exposure will yield an excellent negative. Obviously, such slow exposures will require a rock-steady Camera support. |
