National Museum Of Fine: Though largely in ruins today, the Citadelle de La Ferriere and the Palace Sans Souci, constructed by Henri Christophe in the early 19th century, were considered among the wonders of the Western world. The National museum of Fine (or Presidential ) Palace in Port-au-Prince, designed and built by the Haitian Georges Bassan in 1918, is also outstanding. Distinguished museums in the capital city include the National museum of Fine Museum, the Museum of the Haitian People, and the Museum of Fine Arts. The Episcopal cathedral, also in Port-au-Prince, houses spectacular murals by primitive painters, notably Hector Hippolyte and Philome Obin.
