Modern Art Nological: Law may treat it as a mere extension of wiretapping and forbid it, except as it serves the needs or wishes of law enforcement officials. But such a legal attitude might conflict with valuable contributions to mental health. Perhaps this techmodern art nological progress will pass through a clandestine stage, not unknown to science in the past, before being legitimized. The same may be true of hypnosis and the legal controls needed to cope with posthypnotic influences.
In viewing the problems that have been caused among nations by scientific and techmodern art nological development, it must be remembered that such developments also serve to enhance international stability and communication. The chief reason for this effect is that science (almost completely) and technology (to a lesser degree) are almost devoid of national values.
