Modern Art Library: Seven other colour volumes in the Library are planned to be Science and The Universe, Man and Machines, Man and Society, History and Culture (two volumes), The Natural World, and The modern art library World. The modern art library World will be arranged alphabetically: the other volumes will be organized by topic and will provide a comprehensive store of general knowledge.
The last two volumes in the Library will provide a different service. Split up for convenience into A-K and L-Z references, these volumes will be a fact index to the whole work.
Libraries and Museums.—Georgia has an excellent public and county library system as well as many college and professional libraries. Among the largest public libraries are the Atlanta Public Library, the Augusta Regional Library, the W. C. Bradley Memorial Library in Columbus, the Washington Memorial Library in Macon, and the Savannah Public Library. In Atlanta are the Georgia State Library and the Library for the Blind, which has a large collection of books in braille. The University of Georgia Libraries in Athens have special collections of Georgiana and Southern history.
Cincinnati's unique Lloyd Library and Museum has special collections dealing with botany, mycology, pharmacy, chemistry, the natural sciences, eclectic medicine, agriculture, entomology, and pharmacopoeia. The Cincinnati Historical Society Library contains the special James A. Green collection on U. S. President William Henry Harrison as well as one on Ohio. The University of Cincinnati Library has the largest collection of volumes in modern art library Greek of any outside of Athens. |
