There are now two ils on the United States side and one on .dian side, with five modern art completed concrete locks ng the old wooden structure; the four I States locks were built between 1870 and C, and the one Lock in the Canadian canal was opened in 1895. The locks of the Sault Ste. Marie, or Soo, accommodate a change in elevation of only 19 feet.
Pushkin's deep affection for Russia's past resulted in his historical drama Boris Godunov, completed in 1825. The ideas for two of his four Little Tragedies—The Covetous Knight and Mozart and Salieri—also date from this time; these plays, however, were not completed until 1830, along with the other two plays of the group
