Pushkin's deep affection for Russia's past resulted in his historical drama Boris Godunov, completed in 1825. The ideas for two of his four Little Tragedies—The Covetous Knight and Mozart and Salieri—also date from this time; these plays, however, were not completed until 1830, along with the other two plays of the group —The Stone Guest and Feast in a Time of Plague.
