Heritage The Museum Group: 4. Spain's Heritage of Art Spain's heritage from the Moorish centuries is so obvious everywhere in the south, especially in Andalusia, that it is equally a heritage of every traveler who visits Spain. I have mentioned Cordoba's mosque and, of course, Granada's Alhambra Palace and Seville's Giralda Bell Tower, but they are only conspicuous examples. The Palace of the Alcazar, in Seville, is another. So—"thank history" for the Moorish centuries.
The painting art of the Spanish masters is as obvious as the Moorish architecture. You almost have to queue up, with a mixed crowd of tourists and Spaniards, to enter the Prado Gallery and that is not a common complaint of travelers in most museum towns.
4. Ireland's Artistic Heritage The museum group mentioned above as Item 2 of the Sifted Sights of Dublin contains enough inherited wealth of artistic genius to keep the student of Gaelic arts fascinated for weeks on end. Those interested in the paintings of the past, representing many schools and eras, will find in the National Gallery of Ireland one of the best of Europe's smaller art museums.
Harley-Davidson Unveiled Design for Museum Development
Harley-Davidson unveiled designs for the Harley-Davidson Museum development on 20 acres at the corner of Sixth and Canal Streets near downtown Milwaukee.
"The design plan for the Harley-Davidson Museum and its site incorporates striking urban design elements and engages the surrounding water and green spaces," said Museum Director Stacey Watson.
"It also unites the city center with the Menomonee Valley and reflects the industrial heritage of the area and of Harley-Davidson." |
