Hauberg Museum Displays: On its southern boundary and bordering Rock River is Black Hawk State Park where the Hauberg Museum displays Indian relics and reproductions of Indian life. Just across Rock River from the park is the site of an ancient Indian village which has been excavated by archaeologists of the University of Illinois.
The Art Gallery of the Museum of New Mexico, a modern structure faithful in style to the old Spanish-pueb architecture, displays a fine permanent collectii of Southwestern art and presents a special e: hibition during the fiesta each year. Anothi building of the Museum of New Mexico is tl old Palace of the Governors, which houses tl School of American Research (a nonprofit coi poration devoted to the study of man on tl American continents), and the Historical Societ of New Mexico, and it exhibits a wealth c archaeological and historical materials of th Southwest.
There are, for instance, the window displays which are so important at Christmas time. You can sell dozens of pictures of window displays to the trade magazines, as pointed out in another chapter, from a few hours of concentrated shooting before Christmas. Similarly, window displays featuring other holiday themes, such as Easter and Halloween, also find ready buyers among the trade journals. Sometimes you'll have to wait nearly a year for payment for seasonal pictures, but the money will be welcome when it finally comes. |
