Development The Negative Was Turned:

Development The Negative Was Turned After development the negative was turned into a positive by the reversal process, and a transparency resulted that reproduced the original colors. Steichen was privileged to obtain a supply of the new Lumiere color plates before they were put on the market. As a result the first public exhibition in the United States of autochromes by Steichen, Frank Eugene, and Steiglitz, was held at the Little Galleries of the Photo-Secession in New York during November 1907.

The flux in the iron core and across the air gap will be proportional to the current in the coil or winding and to the number of turns. Hence a large value to zero, and a voltage must have been induced in the loop during the change of position If the loop is rotated farther, some of the flus will link it in the opposite direction, since the loop will have been turned over and the flux nol turned with it. During 180° of rotation the flus linkage of the loop'changes from a positive value to zero and on to a negative value, and the voltage induced in it is that corresponding to a continual decrease in flux linkages.

These techniques have the same limitation as the daguerreotype and the tintype: each color photograph is unique. The negative-positive principle was utilized in Kodacolor film (1941), which is similar in general principle to Kodachrome film, except that the image is not reversed to a positive. Dye-coupling development directly converts each emulsion to an image complementary to the color it records. Thus a color negative shows not only reversal of the lights and shades, but also of color. A blond will appear with blue hair and green lips. From this negative any number of prints can be made by repeating the process with identical triple emulsion coated on a white base.
